Bird House DIY

DIY Wedding Idea “Love Birds” 2 of 3

Today’s DIY wedding idea is these birdhouses that can be used as table décor, centerpieces, or even favors if you are highly ambitious! And depending on what paper you use, they can be any range from elegant, to fun to funky. There are so many different styles of wooden birdhouses out there that you might run out of different ideas before houses… These are so versatile that you can even use them as home décor later!

Materials

1. Wood Bird House
2. 2 Paint brushes (one for paint and one for glue)
3. Paint
4. Decoupage glue
5. X-acto knife or scissors
6. Scrapbook paper
7. 1 inch hole punch
8. Wooden Candle stick (optional)
9. Wood Glue (optional)

Step 1

Paint the base and trim areas of the house.

Step 2

Apply decoupage to the side walls then apply the paper. We already measured and cut our sides before we glued them. But you can also just glue the sides on to the walls and cut with an x-acto knife after they are attached.

Step 3

Use a hole punch to cut out the shingles. Apply the cut out circles to the roof one row at a time using the decoupage glue overlapping them slightly so they look more like shingles.

Step 4

If you would like to have your bird houses on stands like we did you can glue them to wooden candle sticks.
